Pornography

Pornography is impacting society, families, and children. As Christians, we must educate others and take a stand against pornography.

Viewing pornography is wrong. The Porn industry leads to people, especially females, being sexually abused by family members, pimps, and strangers. It destroys relationships, steals innocence, and breeds violence.

Massage Parlors

The Polaris Project found that more than 9,000 illicit massage businesses are operating in America’s strip malls, on the sides of busy highways, and on commercial strips in every state.Human trafficking is described as a crime hidden in plain sight. No category of human trafficking, specifically sex trafficking, better fits that description than the trafficking that takes place in massage parlors.

The Victims

Women trafficked in massage parlors probably do not know that they are being exploited. The victims may have just arrived from China or Korea and speak little or no English.

The women are recruited by fraudulent ads that promise opportunities and great wages while hiding the sexual nature of the position. Once hired, the women work long hours and are paid little or nothing. They believe that this is normal. If victims complain, they are told they will be deported, arrested and/or their families will be made aware of their shameful employment.

While each massage may start out as a normal massage, at the end of the massage, the women are instructed to offer additional “sexual” services at an increased price. This part of the job can bring great shame to the women but they will have horrible consequences if they do not comply; beating or rape is common.

Identifying A Massage Parlor Engaging in Sex Trafficking

Clues to identify a massage parlor that might be engaged in trafficking:

  • Prices for massages are priced significantly below the market
  • The clientele is significantly or only male
  • Customers enter through a discrete side or back door, or can only be buzzed in
  • Women appear to be living at the massage parlor
  • Windows are covered
