Service Efforts from 5th Grade

For fifth graders at St. Mary, religion is a fundamental part of the curriculum. Not only is the focus on learning the ways of Christ, but also in practicing this faith in their day to day lives. The religion teacher, Mrs. LaBissoniere, always imparts extra emphasis on faith during the Lenten season. This year, fifth graders held a Lenten prayer service and nailed personal commitment’s to a cross, created a school display about following in the footsteps of Jesus during Lent, emphasized the theological virtues and the Beatitudes, and collected paper products, cleaning supplies, and diapers for Nia Imani as part of their outreach program.
