St. Mary Parish has been in partnership with Southwest Interfaith Neighborhood Outreach Program since its inception 30 years ago. Their mission is to provide services for older adults over the age of 60 so they can remain independent and continue to live in their homes or apartments. There is no charge for any of their services, although donations are appreciated, and there are no income restrictions. The following is a list of services available:

  • Transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping, errands (Weeks notice is required)
  • Friendly visits for the homebound
  • Paperwork—organize mail, bills etc.
  • Minor Home Repairs
  • Yard work
  • Information and referrals

These services are based on volunteer availability. If you are in need of help or would like to refer someone, please call the Southwest Interfaith Office.

It's All About Community - Can You Help?

There are many older adults in our southwest neighborhoods who have no one to help them. They need to get to their medical appointments, or the grocery store or errands.  Some need a hand with yard work or a minor home repair. Others could use a friendly visitor occasionally or help with paperwork. Volunteering is on a “when you’re available basis.” There are no set days or times; we work around your schedule. If you can spare a little of your time now and then, your help is needed. For more information or to sign up, call the Southwest Interfaith Office.

If you know an older adult who needs assistance, or if you are interested in volunteering, please call the Southwest Interfaith Office.
