Meet the Staff
Mrs. Maria Schram
Welcome! I am delighted to begin my role as principal of St. Mary Parish School. I look forward to working with the faculty, staff, students, and families of this Exemplary parish school community. Together, we will maintain our status as one of the finest Catholic schools in the archdiocese by continuing to provide academic excellence enhanced with faith, compassion, and encouragement.
I earned my undergraduate teaching degree in Broad Field Social Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. After graduation, I was proud to instruct social studies at various archdiocesan schools. During this time, I began my pursuit of a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership and Director of Curriculum and Instruction from Cardinal Stritch University. The last 15 years have provided me with the opportunity to lead two Catholic elementary schools and one Catholic high school. I am thrilled to bring those positive experiences, along with my knowledge and compassion for education, to St. Mary Parish School.
The importance of family can never be underestimated. My greatest gift is the time I spend with my husband David and children, Nicholas, 26, and Phillip, 21. Although our children are grown, we still make time to travel and get together in Door County.
I look forward to meeting the parents and students of this school community. I am confident that St. Mary Parish School's future will be as storied as its past.
I am thrilled to continue my role as Administrative Assistant at St. Mary Parish School. I have been a parishioner for over 25 years and all 3 of my children have attended St. Mary School. I take pride in being part of a hard working, dedicated staff and having the pleasure to meet so many wonderful families and their children over the last 13+ years.
I am a graduate of the University Of Wisconsin LaCrosse with a BS degree in Recreation and a minor in Psychology.
Family and friends are extremely important to me, and I especially value the time spent with my husband Mo and 3 daughters, Katie, Courtney, and Makenzie. In addition, I enjoy traveling, reading, exercising, and shopping.

Mrs. Joy Wallschlaeger
Grade 6 Homeroom & Middle School Social Studies Teacher
I began my career at St Mary Parish School 41 years ago and love every minute of it. My students are so enthusiastic about learning and realize how important education is for their future. I love all of their different personalities.
The education students receive at St Mary's is exceptional. I speak from personal experience as both of my children graduated from St. Mary's and did extremely well in Catholic High Schools and at their Universities. Both of my children said they got the spark for Social Studies from my class which makes me feel really good. Amy is a Social Studies teacher at St Matthias Catholic School in West Allis and Todd is a graduate student in Theology at St. Leo's and works for a church but his undergraduate degree is in Social Studies and Religious Studies at Carroll University.
We do a lot of traveling as I like to share my experiences with my students and get them interested in the wonderful world that we live in. I love the Fine Arts and took many years of piano lessons and choir in all of my school years. We have participated in plays throughout my family's lives. My husband and I took professional dance lessons at different dance studio's including Fred Astaire Dance Studio in Mequon and competed in ballroom dance competitions. My husband and I taught adult classes in ballroom at Anita's Dance Studio in Muskego and I was a receptionist there for many years. Amy taught children dance at Anita's and Todd danced in the Midwest Connections Dance Company and competed in dance competitions in California, Florida and Hawaii.
We love to travel especially to places that Amy and I teach about. There is nothing more exciting than teaching from first hand experience. Of course, Disney World is one of my favorites because I love to see the children there and there is so much to learn. My dream is to get to Africa and spend time there with the children and poor people and help them in whatever way I am able to help. I'd love to bring encouragement and God into the people's lives and bring them hope for a better future.

My husband and I have been blessed with two beautiful daughters who have brought us so much joy and love. In my free time, I enjoy running, traveling and taking outdoor adventures. I am really looking forward to another great year here!
Mrs. Carla Modglin
Hello, my name is Carla Modglin and I am looking forward to my fourth year as Reading Specialist at St. Marys. I have a M.S. degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University and will be starting my 20th year of teaching. I have enjoyed teaching in a variety of areas including: third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classrooms, elementary and high school music, K-8 gifted and talented and of course K-8 reading.
I have been married to my husband Dean for 21 years and we have been blessed with two children, a 13 year old daughter, Grace, and an 11 year old son, Evan. My husband's job has kept our family on the move and we have enjoyed living in Illinois, Idaho, Missouri, and Wisconsin.
I am an avid reader in my spare time and I enjoy playing the piano and singing. I look forward to another great year at St. Mary Parish School. I feel very fortunate to be a part of the staff at this great school!
Mrs. Carolyn Jarecki
I am so happy to be serving as the Interim Guidance Counselor at such a wonderful environment as St. Mary's! I have a Master's Degree in Counseling from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio and I have practiced career and personal counseling. I served as long-term Guidance Counselor last year, and also as a substitute teacher. I love these kids!
St. Mary's is a special place; all 3 of my sons have attended St. Mary's. Jim is now a freshman in college, Jack is a junior in high school and Joe is an 8th grader here currently. In my free time I love to spend time with my family. My husband Dave and I spend most of our time at our boys' sporting events! I also love to jog with my dog J.J. and read.
Ms. Dawn Gilles
Hola! My name is Dawn Gilles and this is my second year at St.Mary's as the K-8 Spanish teacher. I have previously taught at the Milwaukee Spanish Immersion School in grades K, 1 and 2. I also taught Spanish to the Elementary students at Brookfield Academy for the past four years. I have been a member of St Mary Parish since I was in middle school. My husband and I were married here (in the old church) and our four children have been baptized at St Mary's. I feel blessed to now be a staff member in this wonderful community.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, being outdoors and teaching group exercise classes.
