Math Club

Objective

To engage and challenge students, in 5th - 8th grade, in critical thinking of math word problems, have them work collaboratively, think creatively, learn new math problem-solving techniques, and have fun with math.

Goal of the Program

During this school year the Math Club will meet most Mondays instructed by Mr. Farrugia. All math ability levels are welcome as problem solving techniques are instructed and then practiced each session. The math club will also participate in the Mathematical Olympiads for Elementary & Middle Schools (MOEMS) program. This critically acclaimed worldwide program consists of monthly competitions of math problem solving questions administered during Math Club meeting time. Limited space is available for Math Club (maximum of 35 students) and students are accepted on a first come first serve basis.
