Breakout EDU

Once a month the 6-8th graders participate in Breakout Edu.  In each activity there are a set of different clues that focus on one content standard, that students need to solve in order to unlock anywhere from 4-5 locks to open the Breakout Edu box. The students have to work together using critical thinking, and skills learned from their content classes to solve these clues.

St. Mary Parish School also provides STEM and project based learning activities that allow groups of students to use 21st century skills.  These activities include, using wind power to lift a Lego figure that is in a capsule, designing and planning for the creation of an adaptive playground, taco truck, and engineer an envelope so that it can protect a single Pringles chip while it is delivered by the USPS.
