A few things to note regarding athletics and the online signup process to make it as seamless as possible:

 1.     We have left sports fees unchanged for the upcoming season. The Athletic Board recognizes the need to adjust school tuition in an effort to properly compensate our outstanding faculty and maintain our curriculum at the high standards we have come to expect and appreciate your support and financial commitment to that initiative. We have made significant investments in athletics over the past few years that will allow us to offer the same, if not better, level of service and athletic experience without raising the fees.

2.     Once you start the online process you have to be committed to going all the way to payment. There is no way to save the items in your cart. If you make a mistake and have to go back you may have to redo work that was already completed (most notably the checking the box to agree to all the terms/forms). Please be patient.

3.     Yes you have to check the boxes for each sport, not each athlete. So if you sign up your son/daughter for 3 sports, you will need to agree to the same information 3 separate times. It is a pain but it is a much better compliance mechanism than the old manual process.

4.     In order to take advantage of the multiple sport discount you need to sign up for all sports at the same time. If you sign up for volleyball and basketball now and then sign up for track later, there will not be a discount. The discount is intended to help us identify the number of athletes early on for determining how many teams/coaches we will need, gym time, etc.

5.     For those of you new to athletics, there is a volunteer fee charged during signup. This fee is able to be recovered by volunteering to work admissions or concessions during the volleyball and basketball seasons. Shifts are generally 2-3 hours and are paid at $25/shift. The fee is not intended to be a “buy out”. We need volunteers to host events at the gym. Some of you will recall from the prior volleyball season, if we do not get enough volunteers we will not offer our gym for games and our athletes may not have the opportunity for home games.

6.     If you have historically hit the family maximum ($350) due to multiple athletes/sport, you may wish to wait a bit to sign up as we are still working with the web developer to automatically implement the maximum. If you choose to sign up at this time and pay the calculated amount in excess of the maximum, you will need to fill out a reimbursement form (found online) and a refund will be issued in the form of a manual check. We will send out another communication when the system is corrected for this issue.

7.     If you have coached in the prior year and are intending to coach in the upcoming year please emailstmaryathletic@yahoo.com prior to signing up to obtain the discount code.
