Eucharistic Ministry for School Liturgies

One of the easiest, and yet most meaningful, parent volunteer opportunities here at St. Mary Parish School is helping at school Masses as a Eucharistic Minister.

Your children enjoy seeing you living your faith.

School liturgies are Tuesday at 8:15 a.m. Students in grades 1 - 5 attend Mass every week, while middle school students attend twice a month and once a month 5K students attend. In Spring, 4K students attend as well.

Each mass requires 8-10 parent Eucharistic Ministers to distribute wine. Volunteers decide, on a weekly basis, if they are able to help at that week’s Mass. There is no set schedule and no minimum or required number of Masses. Communication and scheduling of volunteers is through email.

Coordinators send an email to the full list of Eucharistic Ministers a day or two before the Mass informing volunteers as to which grades will be in attendance and which grade is planning the Mass. Volunteers reply confirming their availability.

We are currently looking to substantially increase our list of trained Eucharistic Ministers. The more we have the less stress on each individual.

Training is required for all St. Mary Ministers. A typical training sessions lasts 1½ hours and is  led by parish/liturgical staff. Once you are trained you may also serve at weekend Masses or as substitute if interested.
