How to Get Safe Environment Education Certified

Safe Environment Education (SEE) Certification Requirements

There are three components to Safe Environment Education Certification:

  • Attend a live training session (one time)
  • Read and acknowledge the Mandatory Reporting Responsibilities and Code of Ethical Standards documentation (one time)
  • Consent to and submit information for St. Mary to process a current background check (resubmitted every 5 years)

Once you have completed all three steps, notify the staff member you are working with to submit your name for verification.

For accurate auditing and verification of a current background check, certification is reviewed annually and approved effective from July 1 of the current year through June 30 of the following year.

You are not certified for the current year until you have received notification from St. Mary personnel.

Are You Already Certified?

If you think you may have already completed some/all parts of the certification process, please notify the member of staff you are working with so they can submit your name to the Safe Environment Coordinator for verification. They will either confirm your certification status or let you know what additional steps should be taken.
