Baptism Preparation

If you would like to have your baby Baptized, please contact the parish during the first trimester of pregnancy or if you are adopting, then as soon as you know that your child will be coming, so that we can journey with you through the preparation for Baptism. Each family is asked to attend one class at the Parish, held the fourth Tuesday of each month in the evening.

You also will have an opportunity to engage in a faith conversation with another couple and to take some time to write a letter to your child talking to him/her about your faith in God. It is a holy and blessed time to connect and prepare your hearts for the celebration of your child’s full life in Christ. Elizabeth Ministry

Elizabeth Ministry is an outreach to women in the special times of motherhood. It is based on Jesus’vision of the radical goodness, beauty, and truth of human life. The purpose of this ministry is to affirm, support, encourage, and assist women in response to their needs during the childbearing years. The Elizabeth Ministry seeks to celebrate birth, and grieve with families when a child has died through miscarriage or infant death. We will also assist those suffering with issues of infertility, encourage those in the adoptive process and support families experiencing infant or child crisis, in order to be an extended family of faith.

Healing Prayer for Couples

This year Elizabeth Ministry will sponsor a healing liturgy for couples dealing with issues of infertility. The service will take place October 14, 2006, at 9:30 A.M. at St. Mary’s. Following the service, the Elizabeth Ministers will offer an ongoing prayer/listening ministry for women who need support during the waiting. The heartfelt disappointment of couples who cannot seem to conceive is the place where God meets them with comfort and consolation.
