About Catholicism - Becoming a Catholic (RCIA)Many non-Catholic adults who come in contact with St. Mary’s often express an interest in joining our Church. Some are from other Christian traditions. Others have not been baptized or, if baptized, have not received First Eucharist or Confirmation. Our Director of Adult & Family Ministry, Wendy Rappé, will be happy to discuss how St. Mary’s can best help you. Please call 414-425-3101 x337. Small Christian CommunitiesSt. Mary Catholic Faith Community, with a vision toward parish-wide faith-sharing, fosters a network of small groups that build community in our diverse congregation. Small communities are made up of people just like you who join together once a month, or for six weeks during Fall and Lent. They meet together for faith sharing, bible study, prayer, fellowship and service. Let us know your needs or interests and we will work with you to make it happen. Call Wendy Rappé at 414-425-3101 x337. The Bridge Employment MinistryA combined effort of three churches, for those who are struggling with the challenges of finding a new career are supported with support, mentoring, and networking and other resources. New BeginningsThis is an adult enrichment program that will occur three times each year. This process allows us to reflect on the power within our local parish. We are all encouraged to mine the richness of our spiritual lives. Through reflection we discover and embrace the gifts and ministry that God has planted in our souls. We transform ourselves from church members into Christ’s disciples. Adult ConfirmationIf, for whatever reason, you’ve not been confirmed, now might be the time to deepen your relationship with God through the sacrament of Confirmation. You will be gathering with other adults who are considering making their adult commitment of faith. Thursday evenings, October – April, these sessions are in collaboration with St. Alphonsus and St. Martin of Tours Parishes. Call Wendy Rappé for details, or watch the bulletin. Date Your Mate: Marriage Enrichment to Deepen Your Relationship"Date Your Mate" is relatively new at St. Mary’s, building on very successful programs such as The Five Languages of Love, Ten Great Dates to Energize Your Marriage, and Marriage Encounter. This year we will begin a new series entitled: Intimate Marriage, a program designed to look at the scriptural goal of marriage and what we all desire: a good marriage. Couples sign up for a series of innovative and fun date nights on the third Friday of the month. On date night you come to the parish at 6:30 p.m. for a short presentation on the evening’s topic. By 7:00 p.m. you are ready to leave for your date at a restaurant, movie or picnic place of your choice. We provide on-site, low-cost childcare for ages 5 and up. There is no fee, however, there is the option of purchasing a supplemental hardcover book, The Intimate Mystery, for $11. For further information, contact Ann and Mike McKillip at 414-329-3952 or ammckillip@yahoo.com. ![]() Mom's Faith ConnectionOften it seems our children know more than we do about the Faith. Or, we hear about Catholic concepts that we just simply don’t understand... the Trinity, Grace, Salvation, Incarnation. As adults, we need to discover and to deepen our understanding of what our Catholic Faith teaches. If you are a mom with students in our school or in the Religious Education programs at St. Mary’s and if you want to stay abreast of what your children are learning, growing in your faith understanding as well, then you will want to come to the Mom’s Faith Connection. This year, we will be working from the DVD series called "The Mystery of Faith" taught by Michael J. Himes, professor of Theology at Boston College. For more information, including a list of topics and the schedule, please see the Mom's Faith Connection Flyer Lifelong Formation LibraryLooking for some new information on scripture, spirituality, saints or just an interesting read? The browsing shelves on the third floor, outside room 312, have a surprising array of books, as well as other media, for the adult learner. Generous donors have made thoughtful contributions which range from devotional to academic. Available to all parishioners, these materials can be checked out simply by signing the sign-out book next to the shelves (the honor system). Take a look! You’ll be glad you did. Wednesdays in LentOn four Wednesday evenings in Lent St. Mary’s offers Stations of the Cross followed by an inspirational talk. This year's speakers are going to present a deeper understanding of the Catholic Church’s call for social justice. There is no charge. Tuesday Evening Scripture StudyEach Tuesday evening Fr. Chuck Schramm leads a Scripture Study looking at the readings for the upcoming weekend. The study provides a time to learn and to process together the reading proclaimed on Sunday, giving the parish opportunities to understand better the Word of God. The groups meets each Tuesday at 7 P.M., except the second Tuesday of the month, in Room 312 in the Parish Office.
